Welcome!

Bay Area Midrasha in Oakland is a fun social and learning opportunity for Jewish 8th-12th graders.  We are a pluralistic, community based program offering classes, retreats, and events to students regardless of synagogue affiliation.  Our students love the program and come because they want to.  It’s a chance for them to connect with their friends, develop a sense of who they are as a Jewish teen, and have fun!

We offer a core class by grade, and an elective class that students can choose.  We have a social break in the middle of the evening to give our students a chance to connect with each other.  We work in tandem with the other three East Bay Midrasha campuses and with support from the CJLL (the Center for Jewish Living and Learning) to offer retreat experiences to all our students.  We also work together with sponsoring organizations to offer social opportunities and leadership opportunities for our students.  We meet on Tuesday nights from 7:15-9:15 on the Temple Sinai campus.

Bay Area Midrasha is jointly sponsored by Temple Sinai, Temple Beth Abraham, Temple Israel, Temple Beth Sholom, Kehilla Community Congregation, the CJLL, Sinai Memorial Chapel and the Jewish Federation and Foundation of the Greater East Bay.  Our program is open to all students interested in enrolling.
